Photography Festival PHOTOMETRIA

The photography festival Photometria will be at Iwannina from 22 to 30 May. It comes to change the cultural perception of the city, following prototypes of pioneer European cities in festivals, with the participation of great photographers and the organization of competitions with important prizes.

• Cultural Municipal multiplex ( Iwannina former butcheries)
  Exhibition with the best photographs from the competition with the subject ''faces''
  Short films projection and video art: Xarhs Stathopoulos, Katerina Katsoura, Natasa Giannarakh, Ouga Bouga.

Competition

Subject: Faces

Participation: Participation is free, with the option to send one photograph of at least 300 dpi resolution

Sending  photographs for the national competition with the subject «faces» will be: from 8 April-16 May 2010

Entries: Interested parties may upload their photographs at www.photometria.gr

• 1ο prize a trip to Milan with the courtesy of passpantou.gr
• 2ο prize a digital camera
• 3ο prize photographic equipment

The evaluation of photographs will be based on synthesis , coherence and their relation to the contest subject «Faces».

The final score of the 3 best competition photographs will be announced on the 30^th of May and will be calculated by 70% from the judges and 30% from the public. The 20 best photographs will be exhibited at the municipal multiplex ( Iwannina former butcheries).

Parallel Events:

• Opening ceremony: 22 May: original photograph exhibition-march from the Iwannina Vespa Club to the center of the town.
• Photography workshops by the photography club of the Iwannina university.
• Facebook competition: Anyone who accepts the festival as an event and post the logo to their profile from 22-30 May will automatically enter the lottery for 2 digital cameras.
• Opening ceremony: 30 May, party at Skala bar, with djs Olga Roidi, Vasili Sinto and projection of the 100 best competition photographs with a video projector.
